FAQ

  • Can I get paid as an intern?

Westside interns are not paid. If you’re coming from out of town, we encourage you to budget for three months of expenses and start saving funds or fundraising. Our goal is for you not to worry about finances while interning with us, so you can participate fully in ministry and get the most out of the experience.

  • What’s the time commitment for interns?

As an intern, you’ll work at least 10 hours Monday through Thursday. Some departments will require you to work 5 hours on Sunday. Some of your time will be spent working with your intern cohort. The rest of the time you will be working in your specific department. You’ll also serve before, during, and after special church-wide events.

Internships vary in length depending on the department. The maximum number of semesters you can be an intern is 3 (i.e., Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026).

  • Can I receive College Credit for my internship?

Depending on the requirements of your degree program, you may be eligible to receive college credit for your internship. Be sure to share that during the application and interview process.

  • Do I have to be a college student to be an intern?

You do not have to be a student to be an intern. While the majority of our interns are students or young adults, we encourage anyone who is interested in ministry leadership to participate in our internship program.
