Every Sunday God does something special in each service.
Discipleship Now…for all our youth and families was a wonderful event – “process” I should say, because the spiritual growth of our youth and families was happening before the weekend and will continue.
I would encourage all of you to go on line or pick up a cd and listen to the message of Asa Walker this past Sunday evening. You and your family will benefit. I want to THANK all of you who were a part of this ministry and I rejoice in the positive results.
Dr. Rick Marks, Connect Us4Life, is with us this weekend for the Valentine Banquet on Friday night and the Marriage Conference on Saturday morning. He will also be our guest Sunday morning. In his Marriage Manual, he has a list of “Lessons to Make Love Last.” Here are a few of them:
- Great relationships don’t just happen, they are developed over time.
- There is a difference between judging and being judgmental.
- Even good marriages have recurring seasons, and there can be some hard winters.
- It’s never too late to repair damaged trust.
- Arguments can’t be avoided. How you handle them can.
- Consider your partner to be your teacher and your student.
- Your partner cannot make you happy…they can, however, help you save yourself.
- Daily share thought of gratitude and appreciation.
- Facing your fears builds strength and character; avoiding your fears weakens strength and character.
These are great principles, and, if applied consistently, can bring positive change into your life, marriage, and family. I hope you will take advantage of Rick’s presence with us this weekend.
Every Sunday God does something special in each service. Please come prayed up, prepared, and prompt, expecting God to do what only He can do in our lives and ministry.
See you Sunday with a smile on your face, a Bible in your hand, and a friend by your side.
God Bless,
PASTOR GARY
