Within church, the body of Christ, we are taught to “look after one another.”

Rob Hall was a veteran climber leading his eighth climb to the summit. Before the journey he said,     ”With enough determination any bloody idiot can get up this hill. The trick is to get back down alive.” His words became tragically prophetic as he died on the mountain.

Before the commercialization took over, climbers were tethered together and instructed to watch out for one another. Jon Krakauer said “we were not encouraged to look after our fellow climbers and certainly not after our guides.”  This proved horrifying when David Sharp collapsed on the descent. Forty people left him to die as they each walked by him without offering any assistance.

Within church, the body of Christ, we are taught to “look after one another.” We have one admonition after another to do so. This will be the focus of our attention as we come to worship this Sunday.

Can’t wait to see you.
