Happy New Year
Charles Schultz, in a Peanuts comic, showed a conversation between Lucy and Charlie. Lucy said that life is like a deck chair. Some place it where they can see where they are going; some place it where they can see where they have been; and some place it where they can see where they are at presently. Charlie Brown’s response is, ” I can’t even get mine unfolded.”
Some of us may feel like that as we look toward a new year. I think it is important to place our chair where we can see where we have been, where we are and where we are going. This allows for good evaluation and good planning. And this is all wrapped up in good goal setting.
I would encourage you to set spiritual, financial, health, social, and personal growth (enrichment) goals for your life, and family, if you are married with children.
Prayerfully seek the Lord’s guidance and clarify your vision, which will then create a destination and determine your action steps. When finished, you can harness your energy and resources to meet your God-given goals.
I look forward to sharing more with you this Sunday as we gather for our first worship service of the New Year.
See you Sunday with a smile on your face, a Bible in your hand, and a friend by your side.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Pastor Gary

You are always so eloquent, a gift beyond measure. I can’t be in church on New Year’s Day, but I will be online with the family. Among my favorite quotes is: “Begin each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities, no doubt, crept in. Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. Begin it well and serenely, with too high a spirit to be cumbered with you old nonsense,” by Ralph Walso Emerson. Have a wonderful new year.
